Welcome Vicky!
Ms. Victoria Lutgen, a graduate student in Marquette’s Neuroscience Ph.D. program, is rotating in our lab this fall. She will be helping with studies of drug reward in dopamine deficient mice.

The Biomedical Sciences Summer Research program concluded this Friday with the Annual Student Poster Session.

The morning and afternoon poster sessions were attended by peers and faculty from the Departments of Biomedical Sciences and Exercise Science. Also in attendance were Drs. Eric Thelen of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Vice Provost for Research William Weiner, and Provost Madeline Wake. Dr. Wake gave a keynote address wherein she emphasized the uniqueness of this research opportunity for Undergraduate Students, and Marquette’s committment to the education of scientists.

Cannon Lab students who presented their summer research include Charles (Chad) Garven, Kelly Servais, Sergey Gurevich and Michelle Gunther. Erin Ruedinger, who also completed a summer research project, was away on a medical mission trip.

Editor’s Note: I did not coerce them into doing this. In fact, I didn’t even know we had a lab ’sign’. Although I am, of course, delighted.
